Medical Malpractice Lawyer for Unnecessary Endometrial Ablation

Legal Representation for Patients of Dr. Mona Ghosh

At Birth Injury Law Alliance, Ltd., our skilled legal team focuses exclusively on cases involving women’s healthcare. Founding attorney, Adam Snyder, advocates passionately for women who have suffered gynecologic abuse or been the victims of medical malpractice.

Women put a great deal of faith in their doctors - especially gynecologists. They trust that any tests or treatments they receive are medically necessary and reasonably safe. Unfortunately, some doctors violate this trust by performing unnecessary procedures, failing to provide adequate treatment, or denying patients the right to give informed consent.

Hoffman Estates Physician Accused of Performing Unnecessary Medical Treatments

A shocking example of this type of violation is alleged to have occurred recently in the Chicago area. Dr. Mona Ghosh was the owner and operator of Progressive Women's Healthcare S.C. in Hoffman Estates. However, she now faces the possibility of federal prison for a long-term scheme involving fraudulent insurance claims and unnecessary medical procedures.

Dr. Ghosh is accused of performing unnecessary medical tests and procedures on unsuspecting women in the Hoffman Estates area. According to a recent indictment, Ghosh intentionally misdiagnosed patients with conditions they did not have in order to justify invasive and expensive medical treatments. One of the treatments Ghosh is accused of performing unnecessarily is endometrial ablation, a treatment in which the lining of the uterus is removed using heat energy or extreme cold.

Adam and Senator Jon Ossoff

Adam Snyder meets with Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) after the November 15, 2022, hearing on the Medical Mistreatment of Women in ICE Detention.

Endometrial ablation should not be performed on women who intend to get pregnant in the future because pregnancies following ablation are dangerous for both the mother and the baby. Other potential risks of the procedure include deep injury or burning of the uterus, bowel or bladder perforation, infection, hemorrhaging, and embolism. Because of these risks, endometrial ablation should only be performed when there are no safer alternatives available.

Patients must give informed consent before a medical procedure such as endometrial ablation may be performed. This means the doctor explains the reasons for the medical treatment, the possible risks and side effects, and any available alternatives. The patient then has the opportunity to ask questions or raise concerns about the treatment.

Every patient has a right to make informed decisions about their medical care. However, when a medical professional is not truthful about a patient's diagnosis and medical needs, the patient is robbed of this essential right.

If you or a loved one were harmed by Dr. Ghosh or another negligent medical provider, contact Birth Injury Law Alliance, Ltd. right away. You may be able to seek justice and financial compensation for damages through a medical malpractice claim. Tenacious Advocates for Women’s Health and Safety in the Chicago Area

Attorney Adam Snyder is no stranger to complicated legal cases involving medical negligence and unlawful practices. For the past two years, Adam has led an independent medical review team of expert gynecologists analyzing the medical abuse of imprisoned women in Georgia. The women were subjected to aggressive surgeries for which there was no medical need, leading to significant physical and emotional harm.

Adam’s team found a shocking pattern of abuse by a Georgia gynecologist and presented these findings to the United States Senate on November 15, 2022. The results of the team’s inquest are now part of a comprehensive report published by the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Whether it is standing up for the rights of female prisoners, advocating on behalf of an infant who suffered a birth injury, or seeking justice for victims of medical negligence, Adam puts his experience and knowledge to work for every client. He knows that gynecological malpractice can lead to long-term health problems, trauma, and significant financial loss, and he is committed to holding negligent medical providers accountable for their actions.

If you were injured due to the negligence of a gynecologist or any other medical professional, contact Attorney Adam Synder at Birth Injury Law Alliance today. We are ready to fight for the compensation and justice you deserve.
